My idea for my podcast will be on The History of Transport and how it has developed over the last 100 years. I will be Researching on Statistics for how many Soldiers may have used the trams in Manchester when World War 1 and World War 2. I will also be researching on how transport has also developed in Manchester with the trans being used in 1910-1940 then they were banished from Manchester and how the motor buses came in to replace all the trams in Manchester. Also I have looked at How the Metro-link was created and the plans for the Metro-link. At the start the GMPTE just wanted a train running through the town centre and through ancoats but they couldn't get the funds for this. In 1980 plans started for the Metro-link and in 1989 the first tram went from Altrincham to Manchester and plans to expand from today.
Genre
The genre of my podcast will be a factual because I will be interviewing my Nan and Grandad and I will be going to try to get an interview with the MetroLink maybe a driver of one of the trams and also I will be trying to get an interview with a bus driver from Stagecoach. It will also a be a factual because I am going try and go into detail about the history of transport in Manchester. My podcast will be formal and will use formal language. It could be a public interest because the podcast will be about how much transport has changed in Manchester over the last 50 years and can be a public interest.
Audience
The Audience of my podcast will be 50+ because the podcast will be about the history of Manchester and also because the podcast will be about the changes over the last 50 years this is another reason why my podcast is aimed at 50 years or above and also it will benefit me because with aiming the podcast at ages 50 or above i will be able to find out a lot of interesting information about the changes of transport over the last 50 years.
Participants
The Participants of of my Podcast will be my Nan and Grandad and I will be interviewing them on the history and changes that they have seen whilst living in Manchester. I have chosen to interview them because they have been living Manchester all there life's and they have seen all the changes in Manchester. I am also going to try and get an interview with a driver or someone who is working for the Metro-link because I will be able to get some information from them about how much the trams have advanced in the last 50 years. I will also be trying to get an interview with someone who works at Stagecoach so I can get some information from then about how much the buses have advanced over the last 50 years.
Intended Station
The Intended Station that my podcast will be on will be Radio 2 because it is very historical and is aimed at an audience of 40 above because the Podcast will be aimed at the history of transport and teenagers wont really be interested in the history of transport in Manchester. I also chose this Radio Station because the podcast is very factual.
Analysis of the Radio Podcast
My Radio Podcast will be factual based because it will be about the History of Transport in Manchester and I will be finding out how has transport changed such as buses and trams. I will also be finding out Why did they get rid of trams after the second world war. Why did they bring the metro-link into Manchester and why are they still expanding the Metro-link in Manchester this is why I have chosen Radio 2 for my Podcast.
Formats
The format that I am going to use is a formal approach and use formal language. My Podcast will be presenter lead by me. My podcast will be a Narrative and will not be scripted.
